Surface Mount Stair Nosing Installation Guide

Surface Mount Aluminium Stair Nosing’s

1. Sweep and vacuum all stair edges that require nonslip stair nosing.
2. Thoroughly clean horizontal edge of each step with acetone (unless carpeted).
3. Allow 3 minutes to dry completely.
4. Apply TSA MS Polymer Construction Adhesive to the back of the Stair Nosing,
5. Rest one edge of the Stair Nosing on the leading edge of the stair tread and gradually lower until the Nosing is in position.
6. Press firmly down to bond with substrate.
7. Once in place drill 2 x 6mm hole through the centre of the Stair Nosing 50mm in from each end. Continue
   to drill the 6mm holes along the Stair Nosing’s 300mm apart.
8. Vacuum off any dust left from drilling.
9. Press the TSA Hammer Fix plastic wall plugs through the aluminium Stair Nosing and into the Concrete /
   Timber substrate. The Stainless Steel Screw will then be hammered into the plastic wall plug securing
   the Stair Nosing down.

Tactile Systems Australia Nonslip Silicon Carbide Tape Insert

1. Remove all dust, grease and dirt from recessed channel, and then clean with acetone.
2. Allow 3 minutes to dry completely.
3. Peel off 250mm of white backing and begin inserting Carbide Tape into recessed area.
4. Gradually insert Carbide Tape whilst removing white backing as you go.
5. Cut end of Carbide Tape with a sharp blade.

1. Remove all dust, grease and dirt from recessed channel.
2. Remove 250mm of white backing of the TSA Double Sided Tape.
3. Gradually insert the double sided tape into the recessed channel making sure it reaches both ends.
4. Cut ends with sharp knife. Clean the underside of the Polyurethane Insert with acetone.
5. Allow 3 minutes to dry completely. Remove top layer of white backing off the double sided tape.
6. Start at one end, begin to press the Polyurethane insert into the recess of the Stair Nosing. ( Do not stretch while installing ).
7. Once the full length of the Stair Nosing is covered trim edges with a sharp blade.
